Sand is often associated with imaginative and creative play, but in fact it also helps children to begin to understand the world. For example, they practise mathematical concepts when pouring sand into buckets and testing their capacity, or when seeing how many spoonfuls of sand it takes to fill up different containers. Likewise, it teaches children about materials and textures. It happens when they experiment with sand and water, but also when just digging in the sand. Sand is usually dry and warm on top and slowly becomes more moist and compact the deeper you dig.

The games which are played in the sandbox therefore create a foundation for scientific and mathematical thinking, which helps children to better understand the world around them – in their daily lives and at school.

Our sandboxes feature a non-slip rubber coating, which ensures the children have a firm footing, even in wet weather. If you want to protect the sand in the sandbox from dirt and animals, it is always possible to buy a cover or cat guard net.
